STILL BAY CELEBRATES WOMEN’S DAY
Still Bay Branch held their annual function on 9th August 2024 to celebrate Woman’s Day. This function took the form of a Cheese & Wine which was well supported by the members, members from other Branches and the ladies of Still Bay. The main sponsor for the day was Kelders Wine Boutique, who performed a wine tasting while the cheese and snacks were being enjoyed by the guests.
Our guest Speaker was Sonja de Beer, runner up on Kokkedoor 2019. Sonja gave us a demonstration on how to make ‘roerbrood, a salad and shared some of her recipes that she used when had her own business.
She also gave us her testimony on being diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks prior to being accepted on the 2019 Kokkedoor reality programme and how she overcame the cancer. A couple of years later she was faced with a divorce which really shocked her when she found out that her husband of 20 years plus was leading a double life with another gentleman. She loves/loved her husband dearly, but due to her faith and being obedient to God’s word, she was not going to condone her husband’s behaviour.
Sonja is a strong believer and knows that our Almighty Father healed her and has supported her through the heartbreaking divorce that she was subjected to.
Her testimony touched many people in the audience. We have received feedback from many people who felt as if they were saved by the Holy Spirit through her testimony.
